Journey of language learning
Introduction:
The principal aims of this report are to provide insights on how language can be learnt, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of methods, and how to keep consistent. The final section makes recommendations as to how this process could be easier to accomplish.
Methods of learning
A language can be learnt through varied methods. Learners have been exposed to common approaches such as the audio-lingual method and grammar focused approach making the process of learning unnecessarily long.
Strengths and weaknesses
There is clear proof that old-fashioned methods work nonetheless, the process is undoubtedly further strenuous than with a method that focuses on oral production and boosts learners’ confidence.
Consistency
Keeping up with the process of learning is pivotal for ensuring production skills and confidence when encountering moments when the language learnt is required.
Recommendations
I would therefore recommend a more varied approach and focus on being exposed to the language(s) that are being learnt.
